Red rising - Darrow

I had to make a fanart of one of my favourite book-series, the first book is called Red rising. The second is called Golden son. Third is Morning star. Since my old computer went dead, I have been determined to make lots of fanart of him and the other characters there. Especially since There's not much fanart of the series from what I've seen DX

The concept of the book is that Darrow of the lowest colour (kinda like a caste-system), the red, watches his wife die in an execution. As revenge, and to turn the caste-system, he decides to infiltrate the highest colour, the golds, and destroy them from the inside. So he goes through a lot of surgeries and training, until he looks and acts like a gold. The text is my favorite quote of  Darrow <3

This piece was to freshen up and experiment on techniques. For you guys who have made requests, Don't worry, I haven't forgotten you guys, it's just been crazy around me lately because of finals/exams etc. I will put further details in an own journal. TBH this peace ended up better than I expected. though he looks a bit old, but oh, well Kinda makes him hotter, don't you think ?
I know you guys haven't seen me draw eyes like this before; TBH I have always had the ability to do that, but up until now I have only posted either anime or realistic; never something in-between. I think I'm gonna make more like these, so stay on the lookout
